Man charged with attempted murder in New York restaurant attack

New York City authorities say a man was charged Wednesday with attempted homicide after he allegedly stabbed a woman in the head during an argument at a Burger King restaurant.

According to police, the 39-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene after the attack on Tuesday night.

Police say he is facing charges of attempted murder and armed robbery.

Police were called to the scene when a man allegedly tried to stab a woman at the Burger King at the corner of Washington Boulevard and East 72nd Street in Manhattan.

Police say the woman was stabbed multiple times, including on the right side of her face.

The suspect was identified as Anthony Baez, 39.

Baez allegedly left the scene in a silver Jeep Cherokee, and police say the SUV was later found abandoned in a parking lot.
