The Austin City Limits Music Festival takes place every year on July 18 and 19.
But this year, the event is taking place at BJ’s Brewery in downtown Austin, and there are many reasons to celebrate.
For one, the beer-focused chain has announced a major expansion.
According to a press release from the company, its Austin flagship brewery will open its doors to the public on July 22, 2018.
The brewery’s new space will be the first brewery to open in the city since 2010, when the iconic brewery’s original location in downtown Dallas was demolished to make way for the new brewery.
This expansion also comes on the heels of a $200 million investment BJ’s made in the Austin area, including the addition of two new restaurants, a hotel, and a brewery.
As for the other restaurant on the BJ’s list, the Austin-based burger chain Burger King has been offering a limited menu of burgers for the past year, but has only just started offering a menu to the general public.
The menu is available to Burger King employees, but the chain has yet to officially announce a date for the restaurant’s opening.
In addition to the beer and burger menu, BJ’s also announced plans to add a “beverage bar” and “beer garden” at the new location.
And while the menu for the brewery and the restaurant will be available for free, the brewery’s taproom will be open to the community for free as well.
This is not the first time BJ’s has announced plans for a new location, either.
In 2015, the chain announced plans in 2019 to open a new brewery in Austin.
But the company hasn’t said when that new brewery will be located, and the new beer garden will only be open for the first six months of 2019.
And that’s just in Austin!
BJ’s recently announced plans at its new facility in the Dallas area, and we’re looking forward to seeing what the new Austin location has in store.
With the announcement of this new brewery, the company will now be able to bring its iconic Austin location to a larger, more vibrant city.
We’re excited to see what the Austin community can do to support this important and long-running brewery in the coming months.
